A Direct Primary Care DO provides comprehensive, patient-centered medical care through a membership-based model that emphasizes accessibility, transparency, and continuity. Military Digital Health Forum

The AOiA Military Digital Health Forum is a recurring, virtual convening that brings together leaders across military medicine, federal health systems, academic institutions, and the osteopathic profession. This collaborative forum creates a trusted space to share real‑world insights, align priorities, and advance the role of digital health, AI, and whole‑person care in supporting readiness and resilience. It also serves as a central hub for capturing and sharing key insights, emerging trends, and practical innovations across military and federal settings—connecting conversations from Forum sessions and the Emerging DO Special Interest Group.

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) is a hands-on approach to diagnosis and treatment used by Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs). It focuses on the relationship between the body’s structure and function, using manual techniques to improve mobility, relieve pain, support healing, and enhance overall health.

A Private Practice Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) provides patient-centered care grounded in osteopathic principles, emphasizing the interconnectedness of the body’s systems. Practicing independently, DOs deliver comprehensive, hands-on medical care while building long-term relationships with patients and their communities. Their approach integrates preventive medicine, diagnosis, and treatment to support whole-person health.

Program Director/Program Coordinator

Program Directors and Program Coordinators oversee the leadership, administration, and daily operations of residency and fellowship programs. They ensure educational quality, accreditation compliance, resident support, and effective coordination between faculty, trainees, and institutional leadership.
